i bought the game. I had been looking forward to it since i like Pirate games, but i didnt buy PotC since i thought this would be much better since it had Sid Meiers name on it, and because of that i thought it'd have alot of depth. Sad to say it doesnt. I cant believe they worked on this game for as long as they did, and this is all they came up with, the depth imo is very much lacking. I almsot think they took out some parts maybe and just sold us the base game, then plan on adding expansion packs to add the depth to it, i almsot hope thats the case even if its a lame move by them.
I enjoyed it for about 1 night, but i agree w/ that thread that it feels like i've done everything. And everything isnt even that much imo. I wouldnt reccomend this right now to any friends, in fact i'd tell them to hold off until some mods come out or at least an expansion. The value of the game is really poor, since the replayability is the same old stuff over and over again. Its got some fun parts, its just that they dont stay fun because theres nothing really new and you come to expect everything due to the lack of depth.
I think it can be a great game if someone were to add alot more to it, like alot more ships that can be bought/traded, more pirate personalities, more quests for more diverse items, more stuff to trade from city to city, maybe even a blackmarket trade, and stuff like that. The dancing gets really repetetive, i honestly hate doing the dancing now, the rewards most of the time arent even worth the hassle. I wish there were an option to turn down escort jobs, sometimes i dont even want to click on the governor because i might get one. All in all, the game could use alot more depth, and would've thought a game with outdated graphics like this one would have it. Too bad it doesnt because it could be great if it did <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
