History is filled with military leaders that were called "genius", "brilliant", "uncanny", "bold", etc. - until they were defeated. Then the labels "crazy", "reckless", "barbaric", and such get trotted out.

History is invariably rewritten in the image of the victors.

I see the trend growing, and it's frightening. Political correctness, which is nothing more than the elevation of perceived sensitivities over truth, is being used as an excude to rewrite history. In some ways, it's merely being blanded down. We wouldn't want to unsettle little Timmy and Susie, right? Then we'd have to increase their Ritalin dose - again. But in many others, important historical events are being portrayed as they actually happened, but judged by today's "sensibilities", to the point that the lessons Timmy and Susie are learning bear little resemblance to the truth. It gets worse in the political arena, where revisionism gets applied to events that occurred mere hours before. It would seem that those who broker in information believe that the general populace cannot recall what happened 15 minutes ago. And unfortunately, in many cases, their ploy pays off. i think that this is one of the truest quotes i know. those who cannot remmeber the past are doomed to repeat it" in so many ways peopl are forgeting what happpend in the past what so many people fought and died for all this with the anniversary of `d-day` coming up. i think waht mad jack said about thinngs no being shown they way they truly were. with tah happening little timmy and susie wont learn from these things.

UPDATE

Hi all, Its been a while. So you all know, I will be posting very little like this, due to that at the moment I am putting my full concentration on my Civil War hobby. If I get writer's/workers block, I'll probably post here on the table. I think we can officially say I am a second hand member now of the forums. I think with the table and forum split up situations sort took some negatives on the forums. See you around once in a while.

No, I'll be around once in a while. And why I call myself second rate is because I won't be as active as all of you. Personally, I am just getting my priorities together, and my other hobby, the Civil War, is more important. Also, ever since the change of the Blind Parrot, good topics for me to post on have dissapeared, that and the sticky and table situation. Also, just wait until the 13th, I will have a lot of time starting from that day to the end of summer.

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!

School is out for me and I'm happier than a puppy with two tails! Now I have free time, and I'm out of the dumps. Don't worry about me not posting much, I am going to make an effort to post here more I decided, starting on the 13th. Anyways, the best way I can describe my happiness is from a Beatles' song, "Good Day Sunshine!"

1)<u>Highlights to Summer</u>
This summer, I will be working on many things, but I'm talking about relating to this site. I am going to start over on my research, this time writing down sources for websites and when I visited them so I can use them in a bibliography. Also, I am going to continue adding little details here and there to my book. But to really get major work done on my book, my research will have to be done first. As far as the game idea I have, have to wait untill the research is done. I will get this forum into try and helping me work on this research, maybe spurring more action in this forum.

2)<u>Slow Forum</u>
People, the Blind Parrot is empty of activity as a church in Port Royale when a big ship comes in. We need to bring the Blind Parrot back toward it's legendary status of having great conversation. It will be hard, but we can do it.

Hello all, Sorry I couldn't get to you on Sunday like I said. I really meant Monday. Here is what happened on Sunday:

1)<u>Sunday</u>
I begin the day getting ready, and all my relatives from Northern Wisconsin and my family are around the house, getting ready for church. They leave and I get the house to myself, and I get to clean the house and wait for other relatives to arrive. At 11:20, I get a call my mom broke her foot. Luckily the house I live in is right next to a hospital. I go to meet her at the Hospital, and I am with her for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, my sister is getting everyone to go to her graduation from highschool, and after waiting for such a long time, we can finally leave at around 1 in the afternoon. A friend of ours from church brings my mom and me to the graduation, just in time for the start of the graduation ceremony. After that, we all go back home and have a graduation party, and as night comes on, we watch "Blue Collar Comedy Tour". By 10 that night, I am extremely tired. What a day!

2)<u>Negative Cakes</u>
(This is from a Comedian I saw) Have you ever realized that cakes are always meant for positive occasions? It's always "Happy Birthday, Here is a Cake," or "Happy Aniversary, Here is a Cake." But what about a cake with a Negative message. Like: "Happy Divorse, Here is a Cake" or the ultamite Negative of all "Unfortunate Funeral, Here is a Cake".

3)<u>Start Working on Research Tommorow</u>
Tommorow I will start on research Projects here in the Forum. So stand by.

I knew someone who threw a "happy divorce" party for himself - invited a LOT of friends (who were still with him AFTER the divorce)... There was a cake... Very festively decorated... Crazy party... Total sillyness, but hey... Why not? Life is too short to spend it grumpy...

A birthday cake can be negative if you living in denial about your age...........hmm i think ive just taken a stab at about 50% of the members...including myself!
