CH models

Seems there used to be a list of the player ch.models with their corresponding ch.face.ID#s, but I'll be keelhauled if I can find that list now. I heard somewhere you were up above 200 or thereabouts.

Thanks guys. Those look like entirely different numbers now. Danielle is #15 in this list, but #30 in the older list. In characters\characters.init.c can those ID numbers from facemaker.c be used somehow? Here Animists1 is #31, yet in facemaker.c it is #140. Excuse my pestering; I am not a modder, yet I do like to fiddle with the settings in the game. Just the knowledge you guys and the other modders share with us gives this game a tremendous increase in enjoyment. As you see, I comment all of my changes to your splendid Build. Even swapping masts, I have never crashed it. (I have gotten some terribly inefficient and ugly sail designs however)

characters.init.c
ch.model = "Danielle"; // NK was Animists1
ch.FaceId = 30; // was 31

Build 12.1 is running perfectly (what a great improvement to the original POC; you modders are the best) and the above alteration for Danielle is working well. Or am I misunderstanding and the ch.Faceid is not used any longer in character.init.c and facemaker.c automatically picks the correct ch.Faceid #?

Yes, facemaker() is run for every character in characters_init.c, and will take care of all portrait assignment. But if you're unsure whether the character you're editing will be rechecked at the end of charactersinit(), just add a facemaker(&ch); line at the end of that char's define.
