Okey, First I mean NO OFFENCE by the poll - just wanna know if I'm the only one... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
Now, I'm having alot of troubles running the Build(s) so I just wanna know if I'm doing this right.
I have a CLEAN install of Pirates of the Caribbean - now what???
ie whicht builds should I download and in what order?

(Currently I'm having troubles with the dialog...some characters wont talk to me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock:" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" /> )

Now what I do: I Download the EUROPEAN version of BUILD 12, I then wait for the 30 min download and thats it. It should work now right? well it dosent - something I've missed?

seriosly, I CAN talk to some, but mainly merchants and that guy who greets you in the govounors house wont talk to me!
When I press space to talk to em, the action menu disappears and nothing happens! and the man who greets you just stand there and dose nothing!
It startet with Malcom not being able to talk in 9.1, then after installing Build 12 he worked fine but then others wont talk to me! WHY! anyone else having this problem?
BTW, whats all the fuz about "european" version? well, I live in Denmark, on my CD it says "english" dose that mean I hvae a european version?
and ONE other thing, what dose the "RunMe.bat" do?

Played the game

now one thing still bothering me: how come we in DK got the US version?
Ive read someplace that if the ENGINE.exe is takes more then 1.33 mb (1.99) then it's european, if it's 1.33 it's US... mine is 1.33... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

yeahh... kinda - erm, if I where to download Build 12, should I download the Build 12 euro version? or dose that even matter if I just turn "european version support" off?
 
Yea just download the build12 no matter which one and install it, and DONT select anything else than what is already marked. not extra textures, not online updates, and not euro version or localized files.
 
ohh, well I did mark extra textures AND online updates...
Is that bad?
I havent had any troubles SO FAR, no dialog problems, no startup errors... dose that mean it works?
or is there any thing else i should know about?

About US, English and European version:

Ubisoft is the European distributor of this game. They sell a version with a few improvements over the US version. So if you buy the English version by Ubisoft it is NOT the US version.


I installed Build12 on top of my heavily modded Build11 English version and it worked fine so far.

Ubisoft, bein' be UK distributor, got Akella tew sorta 'patch' PotC! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Some o' de features from dat patch, like de gamma correction, etc., be incorporated long ago by Nathan in one o' his 'NK' Builds (`pre-Build` 11)! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

There's a few things yet that haven't been rolled into the build yet, though.
Including the way languages are handled, which at some point I think we ought to sit down and do.
 
Nathan, I wonder if whatever the UbiSoft patch ended up fixing is causing the conflicts we're now getting with the B12 Euro folks. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
I´m just looking around for getting PotC, and I´m wondering what this troublesome Ubisoft version actually is. I mean, Ubisoft is the distributor for all versions in Germany (and maybe in all Europe). Or does "Ubisoft Version" refer to the one in a blue box?
