Say that I install my program on my computer and I want it to open whenever I open Firefox or something...

Beyond my abilities, I'm afraid. I'm sure it can be done, as other people have written "plugins" for various browsers. That might help you to search out what needs to be done. Good luck.

It seems to me that the easiest way to do what you want is to make <i>your</i> program run Firefox, instead of your program starting automatically when you start Firefox. The end result would be the same: Both your program and Firefox run at once by only starting one of these programs.
