Copuple of questions about rats and officers which come with ships

1. Do I need a separate Rats God totem for each of the ships in the squadron (don't remember the exact name or the rats trinklet) all one totem is enough for all?

2. As I understood you can have up to 5 ships in the squadron. It seems to me unlogical you can get a captain with own ship to join you and then can sell his ship and fire the captain, but the question I want to ask is are those captains unlimited as the officers or if they die or are fired soon or later they will appear no more?

And a 3rd question - the officers which have 2 or 3 appointments - do they receive a portion of the captains experience for every apointment separately?

You need 1 totem for each ship.

You can promote any officer to captain and the random officers are unlimited.

No, there's... 16 of them altogether, I think, including your own character.
 
I didn't know that about the "Rat God Totem", very good to know and I'll keep a sharp eye out for them.
I've got a couple ships with real dangerous rats whom have consumed "Powder", jeez DON'T light a match. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" />

Watch out when they consume the cannonballs too:)

You can find it by sleeping with a single whore several times in a row, if you talk to her after the fun she will tell you where to find some treasure, the totem will be there. There are also four of them in the City of Abandoned ships, which means you can keep your entire squadron rat-free.
 
I know this is subject is old, but i just bought the game from a flea market for cheap, prob secondhand, but anyway......

I sleep with a prostitute then when I go back to book another session the madam always say they are fully booked till tomorrow, will it help if i go back every day to the same lady to get that Rat god thingy.


EDIT EDIT...... never mind found the answer on second page of this forum.
 
If you go looting chests in the deep in the CoAS, you can pull up to 6 Rat God totems (I think). I also noticed that after updating to CM v3.1.5 I have no more problems with rats.

Well that's no problem, YOu can fire Rattaball at your enemy =)
 
Mind sharing your location of the Rat Totem. mine is at

Gulf Of San Juan De Nero / Del Netro / De Niro something... De Nitro blablabla... can't seem to find...
