Crash is there anything i can do

Slayer

Landlubber
I have tryed everything and i see alot of peoples problems which i have tryed and nothing works. It seems to me like the folks that made this game sure put out a crappy version with bugs all over crashing your comp and not playable.
Tell me if im right is everyone waiting for this patch to come out so you can actually play this game?
I have to reboot once i get to the screen where it set's sail and i see alot of others with this same problem.
So we cant do nothing just wait for this patch?

PS::
How can some of you play this game without this patch?
Or is it something else i have wracked my brain for 24 hrs and i get nothing.

Model: Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller is my video card like that helps i play everything just fine until i installed this game.Im surprised that sid would send out and back a game like this after all the reveiws i read..So im still wondering if everyone or most everyone cant play this and will be waiting for this patch>?

Do this to fix crashes

There is a problem with the game default settings and certain model Intel video cards and yours is one of them. To fix this, go into the game's system settings and move the Object Detail and World Detail all the way over to the right (MAX). This should fix the problems.

I had a lot of crashes and couldn't get anywhere with the game. I made the above changes in the system settings and have played it for over a week without a single crash.

Well this is new

Ok i did that and nothing happened,I then went to intels site and downloaded the extreme graphics driver2 and now im playing just fine however.
The problem im having now is when im in a city to meet the governer it shows me as a liquid substance,or when i go to the dance im liquid cant see myself only outlines like the termanator lol.Anyhow any ideas to fix that would be great.

Yeah, that liquid thing is because the Intel graphics card doesn't have hardware T&L support. I have that same thing. Only solution is to get a new video card. Since I don't really feel like getting a new one right now, I have just put up with the liquid thing. Some of the governer's will show up that way too.

well

I suppose,Ya i wont get a new card for awhile but when i do what are some good ones. One that i wont have to replace for awhile.

You are absolutely right, this game has numerious errors in the code and I have been round many forums concerning the game.

My system:

P4 3GHz
Nvidia GT6600
1Gb RAM
Latest drivers
DirectX 9.0c
all the latest etc etc

Will crash constantly ONLY using this game. I have FarCry, Halo and run them for hours without issue.

It is seriously flawed, and I for one will not run it until they bring out a patch

They need some better coders at ATARI, the quality of this code sucks. And that isnt just my opinion, I have seen hundreds of postings from various users with multiple configurations all saying the same thing.

Lesson here: Dont touch ATARI code with a `barge-pole`.
