Aside from my IT incompetence, I think too many options may result in my dad moistening his longjohns. If you think it will help stop the game crashing then I'll give it a go.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->It might help. And if you want to prevent your dad from getting TOO many options at first, you can try and install the old <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/privateftps/pietersmods/potc_downloads/build12_full.zip" target="_blank">Build 12.1</a> on top. That one is very stable, but doesn't have quite as much new stuff as Build 13. Still adds plenty of gameplay opportunity though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

You only need to reinstall when you want to revert back to an older version. But we don't have an older version than Build 12.1 available anyway. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Installation instructions: Download the file, run it, point it to the right directory (only needed if you installed to anything other than the default), then let the installer file do what it wants to. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Getting out of a storm: You just need to wait a while. You can lower your sails; that would decrease sail damage. Another trick: When you see a storm approaching: Press Spacebar to go to 3D sailing mode before the storm icon appears, then go back to the worldmap using F3. The storm will now be gone. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
