Davy Jones Delayed Indefinetly

great! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> i think that the head would be the only possible problem then.

does that mean that he's more than two meters!? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

i tried to increase the corsair3's height and it works. Otherwise, what do you think morgan terror to use the soldier_eng's head as basis of davy jones' head ? just add a beard and change the skin's colour. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

You can do head swaps with Inez Dias' tool. Remodeling characters is a bit tricky though.

but it can be done, right? i mean, we've made entirely new ships, and the Jack Sparrow model definately wasn't in there in the stock game. so im almost sure that you should be able to remodel heads. ignore the tentacles. let them hang in place. the main thing is the face looks like the Davy Jones in the fil. no need for animations. even Disney had to do some hard work to get the tentacles looking realistic. we dont have to make it perfect, but getting one that's close is good enough!

For remodeling characters, we need Maya 4.5 ?

Dunno. 3DS MAX might work; I never tried. It seems nobody actually has Maya 4.5. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

just curious about adjusting the height of characters. does the sword always end up in the right place? or would it float in the air if you would make the character really small, for instance?

FYI, I tried remodelling characters (starting with grafting Hawk's face (and only face) onto <i>corsair</i> model)... and TOOL couldn't apply animations correctly to the resulting model. Hell, it couldn't even correctly re-apply animations to the stock unchanged model.

So I suppose I could make a great-looking Davy Jones statue, but it is beyond my abilities to make it a working moving character.

Swapping heads with TOOL is also kinda... unworkable - often there are gaps between swapped head and body, sometimes with parts of head (hairs, necks) missing.

I do know that there are several modded chars in the Build, but without their authors telling us how they did it we won't be able to have new models ingame <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

What software have you used ? Maya 4.5 ? I've downloaded 3DS Max and Avatar Studio 2 and 1. Maybe, i could do something with them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

There is no problem with the sword <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" /> .I've increased the height of the corsair3 model (2.1m) and it seems to work.

As far as modifying characters goes, we should contact High Sea Lass. That's the person who made modifications to the models themselves. And Inez Dias would also be able to help. If only they were still here. Perhaps somebody can try to send them a PM?

so the sword goes along with the height of the character? that's a pity really, otherwise i could make it so that i would have to fight flying swords in the maltese abbey. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> i would simply make the black monks REALLY small.

@ Pieter Boelen: no. PMs wont work. i suggest E-Mails.

@ Morgan Terror: i have a better idea. we'll make Marty the midget from PotC:CotBP! now HE'LL be a fun character to play as! XD

At the moment is the best i can do..but it's a mixed characters... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

heeheehee! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> man, he looks silly. i must say that you did a very good job in the nose and mustache. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> those are really well done. i think that the english officer would be a beter head, if you can do it. he has all the hair to turn into tentecles, and a big enough hat as well. the shape of the hat is pretty good as well, or at least from the front. adding some seaweed would be nice as well. remeber that he has to look murky. although it is very hard to do, try experimenting to get that colour he has in the film. the overall contrast of the colours is fine as it is, however. (ligth vs. dark green)

Pieter and Morgan Terror i think i found the ideal mixed characters is : 50FatJackcorsair3. The problem of space between the body and the head is minor. We just need to work the textures of these 2 characters.
