Direct X 9c problem

I recently bought this long awaited game only to dicover to my dissapointment that when installing Direct X 9c it fails. The only message that appears, is adialogue box informing me that Direct X failed to install. Does this mean that my graphics card does not support Direct X 9c? It is a ATI Radeon 9550. Anyones help on this would be much appreciated.

I too have exactly the same problem however i note it seems tohave something to do with the graphics card i dont know what card i have on my machine how do i find out ?

Ye can go into yer control panel/display/settings,it should tell ye what ye 'ave fer a video card <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
