DirectX Problem, Start up Problem

Hi,

Just bought the game, all excited. Installed ok, but, as soon as i start it i get the error "Cannot initialise DirectX". I went to the microsoft site and manually installed DirectX9.0c. Still no joy!!!!

I have a S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR graphics card. Is this any good??? If not, any suggestions???

I did install this on another PC, and it works until the cinamatics are finished then just crashes out. ANy ideas?

Any help appreciated.

when you instaled the game you get a dialog that say's do you want to instal directx9?
Or i can be wrong, but in most times when you installed a game you can also instal recried software like directX.

The game uses its graphics engine to generate these cinematics. It does not play true canned movies. It plays animations. Just like fencing in the game is an animation.

This means that the graphics engine is running, and most probably correctly.

The bad news from personal experience.

Similar problems on a stable machine that had little troubles playing Pirates.
I upgraded the vid card.
Pirates would then open and play for about a minute then <b>crash and burn</b>.

Turns out the vid was a power hog.
Had a low power PS.

The vid card was crashing the system (because it drank far too much power for the puny power supply).

It sounds like you may have a true hardware problem. That the software reveals.

Of course, you may get off easy, may just need more current vid drivers.

Argh I have the sane DirectX problem! Its so annoying, I was looking forward to the game too! Anyone know how to solve it?
