Divide the plunder question

Hmm...Im wondering if theres a way to keep all crew when I divide the plunder.
Cus when i divide the plunder and have like a 100 big crew...it turns to 40 after the dividing. The same with the extra ship. Its gone.
How can I keep the 100 big crew and still divide the plunder, or is there another way?
I need the crew to attack a city. But cant do it after the dividing.

You will always go down to 40 men as you are getting a whole new crew. You do get to keeo your specialist though.
