Hi guys, yesterday I installed this game. I download the patch too. So, I'm installed this game, I hope it will be works, but it isn't. When I try to start a new game the game is exit. "Pirates of The Carribean has stopped working".... Any idea?

Install it on a separate partition, start first off with no changes at settings and wait for any other ideas. Comrades? you see us perplex as Mad the Hatter.

What operating system do you have - Windows 7 - Vista - XP

Do not install the game in the PROGRAM folder - this causes serious problems - intall it in a seperate folder. e.g. GAMES. :yes

Also do you have a Intel video card - this game has serious problems with them - and may not work.

Check this post for known major problems with installing -- >> http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php/topic/14915-build-mod-and-forum-faq/page__view__findpost__p__352878

I have got Win 7 . And I installed this game to the D driver. I havent got Intel video card. I have an Nvidia Geforce GT 525m

Ah, he works with Win7, so there should be an operating system, possibly powered by some insane CPU. Hey, on a normal set-up a CD/DVD-rom gets onto the D:\\ -thingy. I presume you know a bit about PCs, or a friend does. Before the game installations gets finished it will be checked by a batch program, telling you all's been done according to plan, ignore the silly 'files not found', what you surely have read earlier in the procedure of how-to-do-stuff. Next step we did eg was adjusting the exact monitor-solution in "Engine.ini":

(3. & 4. line)

screen_x = xxx

screen_y = xxx

In all cases do not make the mistake of putting PotC into the C:\\Windows partition respectively drive. So, what next?

I looked into your video card and something called Optimus will work with it. What it does is automatically switch between the Intel graphics and the 525m. Do you have Optimus installed?

Also, does stock POTC with no mods run ok?

Here is a thread where others had similar problems. http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php/topic/18371-beta-2-issues/

I've never read the installation instructions. There must be something in the Windows folder? Which folder is it?

Optimus? Not yet installed on. By the way, i've got Directx 11. Oh, and my game isn't original. But it works with build mod 13

Okay, finally I fixed it. Only I have to do something on my nVidia driver panel. I'm glad to see the game running. Anyway, thanks the help guys, it's helped a lot. I can't wait until restart the game. I will playing all night.

:gday mate.

It' is a guy thing to never read instructions, but is highly recommended when one gets in trouble. Anyhoo, here is a screenie of my current install, its path, and the engine.ini.

In the engine.ini you set your screen resolution and lower down you enable error logging. Those are the only changes from standard made to this one.

Alrightio, here we go, a nice turn of things. Who would have thought that there are so many settings at the driver package, have somehow forgotten to mention it. :? Enjoy the sound as well, night-bird.

Ehm Hylie esteemed friend, the SS Volcano-II got a few scratches and bents..someone else's steering abilities. Any ideas?... wo, into the jungle, play injured bird and tell the waylayers to refit the ship, and this a little snappy? would wager they could be persuaded in making some fools out of themselves. Stow'em in the fresh prim holiday yacht and tow the show behind you, eh, yea. - That Barbarossa type is quite a brand, won't you say? trustworthy, full of pep and if you catch him becoming too rude and sassy make a comment about his strange hat. No feather-plucking nor -assorting. :slap haha !-)

Hmm. Your ship got into a gender blender eh? The AI used to be better behaved, but mods to make them sail more realistically also gave them a mean streak. I've been rammed hard enough by friendly ships to leave me spinning like a top.

Still dizzy.......:wp
