edgar atwood exacts his revenge

So I drop anchor at redmond and the fun begins. I here an event ding and low and behold Edgar Atwood has decided to join my shore party. Now I guess I should have dismissed this useless drunkard a long time ago( I did his original quests) but I must have a sweet spot for hard luck cases. Anyway I run around and take care of my business and prior to boarding my ship I swap old Edgar for my normal officer( I have an all girl shore party, much more pleaseing to the eye <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> ) Anyway, I get to my next port of call and the first thing I notice is that I can't teleport locations anymore. Fast travel just shows an X. I'm assuming that I either hit a key that turned of fast travel or the same bug that forced Edgar is causing the problem. Any Ideas?

What you say suggests that some sort of quest with Attwood is playing, so I wouldn't recommend removing him from your active shore party after that because that might bug the continuation of the quest. Did you read the update in your questbook?

I'm actually stiil working on the missing children quest and the Spanish Lady quest, nothing else is on the go. Been to busy getting filthy rich.
Like I said Pieter, I ran around all over redmond taking care of my mistress and some finances with Atwood in tow and he did nothing. I even made sure to stop in every location on redmond. AFIK I had already completed everything to do with the bilgerat. There were no notes in my quest book regarding him, that was the first thing I checked when he popped up. I suspect it is part and parcel of the same bug that wouldnt let me FT from Redmonds port, which for some reason just stopped after about 50 visits. Like I said, I should have tossed his sorry butt overboard long ago as hes just been taking up space. With 0 values in some of his skill slots hes useless as a bucket with a keel or a brass monkey in Antartica. The biggest issue is not being able to FT in any port of call so I'm going to an earlier save and putting him ashore, maybe in redmond where he can get his old job back cleaning up the prison.
