Error 1335, 2350 and 1603

[Cibach]

When trying to load Pirates onto my computer (running on Windows XP) I get the following error message

Error 1335, The cabinet file ‘Disk2A~1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannon be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the `CD-ROM`, or a problem with this package.

Followed by,

Internal Error 2350

And ending up with

Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation.
Consult windows Installer Help (msi.chm) or MSDN for more information


I have tried installing the game files from a folder on my computer, cleaning the CD rom, cleaning out the Temp directory, updating the installer shield to 8 and I am still get the same messages.

Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I should add that this problem is with the Limited Edition DVD.

I get the same errors,..except the fiel initially refered to is 'Progra~1.cab'. Also with the DVD.

Installing from DVD

Got it installed. Had to upgrade firmware for DVD.

I have the exact same problem, olny I get "Progra~1.cab" error instead of "Disk2A~1.cab"

I thought it was from the windows installer, I uninstalled and installed Service Packs, updates, windows installers, etc
Still not working <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />((

I just had the exact problem as <b>Cibach</b>, but the only firmware updates I can find are for DOS and won't run on my windows 2000 machine. I haven't experienced any other problems with any other disk on my DVD ROM.

repairing the progra~1.cab file

I had the same problem with the Progra~1.cab file being corrupted.

I found a way to repair the CAB file using a nifty CAB fixing tool.
If anyone is still having this problem, you are welcome to email me and I'll send you the cab fixer (it's small - under 1MB).
