Exporting Ship Models

Hey guys,
I'm currently working on a small 2D game based on Sid Meier's Pirates.
I'm not that good in modelling anything so I'm looking for a way to export the ship models from PotC.
I tried TOOL to open the .gm files but I don't know if it is possible to export the models together with the textures.
If there is no way to export them and use them in Cinema 4D or 3DsMax I would also use some models or sprites from any other sailing game, if you know a way to get them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

use the gm-viewer and export the models to .obj format. than you can open it with maya or 3ds, blender ...

Or use Ines Diaz' TOOL to export to VRML and import that in 3DS MAX.
Textures are in TGA.TX format in RESOURCE\Textures\Ships; convert to TGA with the TX Converter.

I managed to export both, the models and the textures.
Everything else I need are the sails and the rigs. I've only found the sail textures.

Why don't you check the mapships in RESOURCE\MODELS\WorldMap? Those have got rigging and sails included.
The sails and ropes on the other ships are generated ingame based on locators and are not actually modeled.

Thanks Pieter, I already checked the worldmap ships, but those all look the same, no different ship classes.
But I'll try to model the sails and rigs by hand. Shouldn't be too hard.

These ones are better: <a href="http://www.moddb.com/mods/potc-build-mod/downloads/mapships-mod-v2" target="_blank">http://www.moddb.com/mods/potc-build-mod/d...mapships-mod-v2</a>
I indeed modeled the rigs on those by hand as well; not so hard. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

One question: What kind of 2D game do you need 3D models for? And is it commercial?

I'm just working on a small 2D sailing game like Pirates! or Pirates! Gold.
It's in no way commercial so you don't have to worry that I'll use your work to make money.
Maybe I'll just use the vanilla models from PotC because I don't need very much detail (I'm working with 640x480 scree resolution for this game).
