Finding Admiral's lost key using locator in debug

hi guys,
I dunno what is Debug and Locator to use them to reveal the admiral's lost key(dexter's). please help.
are they files of game? then what path?
and something else: after i open a box with keys, if i don't take items,will they remain there or not?

No, items from chests will disappear after a few days. If you see something you want to keep, haul it over to the Diffindur (especially the healing potions from the chest in the tavern wine cellar will come in handy in the Casper fight).
