French Quest & Pirates

The french Govenor tells me that I have relation with Pirates and cant work with me because of that.

I can't understant why because i have no quest with pirates. I have a letter to be privater and i'm neutral with french, and i have a good reputation "good Sailor".

What i have to do?

hi drakan, this one drove me crazy for a while too. unfortunately you are going to have to do the pirate quest first or start over. that means you will have to go see Jackman and he will give you a tip to go visit someone in Puerto Principe. this is the beginning of the pirate quest line. you will have to finish this quest line before moving on to one of the national quest lines.

i figured this one out by reading almost every single post on this forum. so don't feel bad about asking what seems like an easy answer. it really isn't.

I've noticed that your level needs to be higher, at least 30, you need to have a Hero Reputation, and you need to have achieved Admiration status with the nation before the Governor will look at you as being someone not associated with pirates. I find it much easier to simply go to Bermuda, find the pirate diplomat huckster in the tavern that sits at the back table next to the bar, and buy a letter of marque from him from the nation you want to work for. Its very expensive but will get you where you want to be much faster. The Governor will now give you missions. If you have begun the Morgan quest line, the Governor General will also not give you quests.

You must either complete Morgan's quest or start over before you may begin a national quest line even if you have a letter of marque, which the OP says he has.
