Mod Release French translation

Hello everyone,


I'm making this post because I've started translating the MNH game into French.
I initially began this translation for my brother, but now I feel it's worth sharing it with the community.

I want to clarify that I'm not a programmer — I'm learning as I go, and this is my first time doing something like this.
There’s still a lot left to translate.


I only recently started working on the dialogues, but most of the game's interface is already in French.
Currently, the abilities, sea battles, weather, date, equipment, and more are available in French. There might be more that I’ve already forgotten since I’ve done quite a bit!
There are still mistakes here and there that I fix as I notice them.

I've created a somewhat messy folder based on the original English translation.
To make the French translation work, you need to replace the files in RESOURCE/INI and PROGRAM/DIALOGS to get a working base.
Sorry in advance — I don’t know how to code or create a proper “French” language folder.


I'm open to any help — especially tips on where to translate the main quest log (Questbook) or which files are the most important to prioritize.
Also, just to be clear: I do not modify any lines of code.

As you can see, there's already been some work started on a French translation. I've merged your thread into this one so that you can compare what you've done with what has already been done. Perhaps you, @guigui0017 and @bastus can co-operate. Or, since they don't seem to have been here since last year, perhaps you can take over the French translation.

I was able to pick up part of their translation, and the interface is now fully in French, as well as the dialogues for the Jack Sparrow, Woodes Rogers, Free Play, and Standard storylines.


All of these stories are playable in French, so the translation is well underway.
I’ll check if there are any things that need to be adjusted in the parts already translated into French.

For all French-speaking players who wish to play these campaigns, it is possible.
However, since I haven’t played through them myself, I don’t know if there might be any errors hidden in them.
