Frequent crash in dailycrewupdate.c

Afternoon all. I've been getting some pretty frequent crashes to the desktop with the latest Build. This is what the error.log has to say about it:

RUNTIME ERROR - file: worldmapDailyCrewUpdate.c; line: 149
Divide by zero

I've had this same crash/error a few times and sometimes it seems to have sorted itself out and other times I've had to rollback my save. I've had a brief look at the module with the error and it looks like it's something to do with food consumption, although I'm loaded to the gunwhales with wheat and rum on all my ships.

Anyway, thought I'd let you know and see if there's a workaround or a code edit I can do to fix it. I don't really want to go back a save as I've just managed to `half-inch` a battleship and I'm on my way to Greenford to reduce the fort to rubble with it. Like you do.

By the way, thanks to all you Build folks for turning a diabolical release into a truly great game.

That's not the CTD cause, I think*. It's a pretty harmless error, though IIRC it's fixed in 12.1.
Try updating to 12.1.

*You can have tons of them without crashing; it just means that DCU doesn't apply correctly.

Ahh, thanks for that. I have seen tons of them in the error log but I'm only looking at that when the crashes happen. Still at a loss about the CTD but I reckon I'll keep trying the save game until the gremlin gets bored of crashing me out. It seems to have worked before.

I'm guessing my save games from 12 will work with 12.1?

Sorry, totally forgot i posted this message, I put the mods on the game now <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> or will the old saves still work?

Nathan, the crashes seem to have stopped now although I'm not entirely sure why. It might be because I resaved my game straight after loading it.
It sounds strange but that's all that I did differently to all the other times when it did crash.

I didn't look at the system and compile logs so I can't post those for you, but next time I get a flurry of crashes like that I'll be sure to post them.

Oh yeah, looking at the dates for the 12.1 Build I'm pretty sure that's the version I've been playing.

Ehm... and I didden't even drink anything yesterday <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

<b>Havelock Gibbons</b>, that's weird. Well, glad they stopped... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
I'll check DCU again--I've fixed this bug at _least_ twice, if not three times, but I keep losing the file...
