Game crash

Hey pirates <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> I just bought sid meier's pirates collector's edition and I installed it fine, then the game would load up a few screens and crash and give me a window's system error. I am not going to lie, this thing is annoying me and I am kind of anxious about firaxis. Do they know of this problem? Are they doing anything to fix it? Because after about 4 hours of error I am starting to box this thing up and send it back to the store and never buy another sid meier game ever. Not that you would care, but please help me if you have any info. I would like to know if I can aware firaxis of this problem and hopefully they can set out to fix it.

Update

Update: Well I went through troubleshooting and did the ctrl + alt + dlete thing and destroyed my processes that were under Moore.hd (my screenname) except for explorer and taskmgr and my game still quits.



It starts up, goes through opening cinematics, then goes to window error message report. Once again can anyoine help me?

What are your system specs? I don't think its a game issue, as there are plenty of people who can run the game fine. Try updated to latest drivers for everything, reinstalling the game, and setting your control panel video settings as per developer instructions (on the atari site) and see if all that helps.

David, read the other posts on this board re: crashing. They have some suggestions that have worked for myself and others.

Run dxdiag, save all the information and paste it here.
