game stopped functioning

for some reason, the game doesn't work anymore, while it did 15 minutes ago. when i try to start it, it sais "this device does not support the queried operation" when it's trying to create the device (i think. i thought i saw that it said something like that. i am sure about the quoted sentence though). it fails when it sais SEA_OPERATOR.dll at the bottom, but only after a while. it may have something to do with the buildsettings, as it happened after i changed them.

well, i tried several things, but it didn't work. can you post your buildsettings file here so i can try it out? i have build 14 alpha 6 with PBmodifications.
 
any other buildsettings file from my build version would do as well.

EDIT: this doesn't seem to be working. but it's still worth a try. come on people, help me out here!

all right then, let's see if this works. it may have something to do with all those fixes i installed though. i guess i installed them in the wrong order or something, but that wouldn't explain why it did work at first.

are you sure you have the same version as i have? the hp hit setting is different. here, you can only choose between 0 or -2, but with my buildsettings, you could select any damage value.
 
yay! it works! it appears that changing a certian setting screws up the game. i thought it was the toggle for appearing on deck first instead of being immediatly in port, but now it would seem to be something else.

i seem to have forgotten the loot key. what was it? and could you tell me how to prevent that stupid boarding-bug? guillooto's boarding fix doesn't seem to work.
 
I'm not playing 14/6 as I've uninstalled it and took the file from the Mod Enabler.
To many problems with 14/6 ad. and got a bit tired of it.
As far as I know it should all be there but did my own settings ofcourse. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

wasn't there a fix for the boarding bug? Have a look on my site
loot key used to be 'T' but I think somebody changed that.......confusing!!!!!!!!

could be, I think you have to change to Arcade mode. Something wrong
with the real sailing?
 
no, that isn't it. i use arcade sailing. i have a bug where i get stuck and can't continue. i thought it had something to do with the last enemy dying and having your sword sheathed by the game.

Well Thomas, Looks like you have to fiddle a bit longer, because I can't remember?!
 
wha? that's the second time i'm confused with him! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> i think you had to change corpsemode to 3 instead of 4 to solve it, but i'm not sure.
