Graphics/operability in Relation to Carribean Tales

Does this game have similar graphics to AOP: Carribean Tales? Meaning: If I had no trouble running Carribean Tales, is COAS likely to work okay on my PC? Or have the graphics improved drastically and I should just go bury my PC somewhere. :

It ain't top notch, that's for sure:

Windows XP
Intel P-4 2.53 GHz
2048MB RAM
ATI RADEON 9550 256 MB

Also, does the game use Starforce copy protection, and if so, is there a no-cd patch out?

I tried checking Can You Run It at systemrequirementslab.com, but AOP did not appear in the list.

it seems to have only minor imporvements. however my game crashed when i ran into 6 military/6traders/4 pirates..

if you ran the old one good you should be fine.
