Guadaloupe caves

I was wondering through the caves on Guadaloupe and ran into an interesting doorway different than any other I'd found before. In the room is an odd looking sunlike/compasslike object on the floor. It looks like it might open, and the grab hand shows up, but when I click it says "you have no need for this item". Anyone know what this is?
