Guns bug ? - or am I wrong!

This may have been noted in previous postings that I missed. I notice than when 40 guns are loaded and ship fires from 20 gun side that 20 rounds are in the air but after this firing, guns loaded show "none" when there should still be 20 loaded. Or am I missing something here.
 
Gotta admit that I never paid much attention to that, but maybe the "loaded" bar is dependent on which of your sides faces the enemy? Ever tried turning 180° in those cases and fire again right away? Do you get another full salvo then?
 
This is not a bug, but is a complaint I have about the game. When you fire, you are in effect always firing both broadsides. If you happen to be between two enemy ships you will fire at both of them at the same time. However, if there is only a ship on one side, only the side that has a target will actually fire cannonballs, but all of your guns will need reloading. You can also notice a similar phenomenon if you fire your guns right at the edge of their range. If you move out of range in the middle of their firing, the remaining shots will not actually fire, but the guns will empty just the same. This is kind of annoying since sometimes I wish to prefire at a ship that is coming towards me in an attempt to hit him as he comes into range or alter it's course. I think you should be able to fire even if the target is out of range.

In my review of the game I mentioned the fact that even if only one broad sides fires you have to reload all the guns. Hopefully a patch or a mod can alter the reload counter to be split to port and starboard batteries, instead of a single counter.
 
Another complaint about the guns. On my War Galleon there are guns on the back of the ship. But these don't shoot either. When your sailing in front of your enemy and you fire, your guns of the broad side batteries will fire into nowhere and the guns on the back won't do anything. In PotC you could shoot from all sides.
