Has encountered a problem

Been playing for about a week , now when I try to play at my newest save(June 28 , 1679) I get this, "Sid meiers pirates has encountered a problem and needs to close."etc.

comp. specs AMD Althlon 64 3200+
512MB DDR
160GB 7200rpm 8MB
FX5200 128MB 64 Bit

yes but they are older and I was so far along with the one I cant play. Im really pissed , I just bought my computer to so I know its not that.

tried using the arrival, battle or quit autosaves?
