I know there's players out there. I like this game because it's not so serious. Take 2 doesn't seem to think much of the game, since it's very rough around the edges still. I guess it's because it doesn't appeal to the adolescent mentality.

1) I recognize that Avatar. And the name that goes with it.

Consider all the gratuitous violence of capturing ships.
Ditto sacking towns.
Ditto and ditto plundering whatever comes into view.
And nobody ever dies.

Ponder over the fact that the Uber-Villain ends up in a condition that can only be translated as "slavery until death".

The courting ritual as presented in the game, in particular the dip-&-swoon result of the dance.

And last but not least the fact that Mendosa, the national fiance kidnapper of the Spanish Main, often sails in a ship whose name could be translated as "Our lady of the Immaculate Conception"

You obviously need to reconsider your position on this subject.

(being as sophisticated a game as it is for all the reasons you cite) doesn't appeal to the adolescent mentality, apparently. Since you DO recognize the nick, you can safely assume I'm not one to avoid inflammatory speech, even if it does singe an addie's peachfuzz!

Interesting, and what would you consider to pander to the adolescent mentality.
You don't like suggestive scenes.
You don't like uber violence.
You don't like amassing a fortune.

Actually, Sid Pirates is very quite over here.
Much more action over in the Age of Pirates section, the spam section, and the Forum RPG.

It depends upon what the scene suggests.
