Help with cheats?

Okay, now I keep reading about setting ENABLE_CHEATS to one... but I can't find that anywhere. I'm looking through the BuildSettings file, but I still don't see it. So... help?

EDIT: The game also crashes when I try to start a new game. *sigh* Just goes to show... make something idiot proof, and the world throws you a better idiot <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

EDIT EDIT: GAH! Okay, I give up. Uninstalling the mod. Okay, I just want immortality back on, 'kay? It's been on for the whole game, up until the point where whats-her-name knocked me out. Now all of a sudden I'm dying after one hit. To get immortality on the first time, I edited the charachters_init file and added the line LAi_setImmortal (ch,true); in there. Is there a way to turn this back on?

EDIT AGAIN: Okay, this has got to be a record of the most screwed up anyone has ever gotten this game. So, after the mod screwed up the game (or I screwed up the game... one of the two) I uninstalled the game to get the mod off. Now it won't let me reinstall it. I get an error message saying that the install program isn't a "valid Win32 application". What the heck does that mean?

The ENABLE_CHEATS setting is only in the Post Build 12 modpack (see the link in my signature: Pieter's Pirates Page). It contains a lot more mods for Build 12, but isn't really bugfree yet.

An error message saying that it isn't a "valid Win32 application" means that the program isn't a proper Windows program. Which is, of course, complete nonsense, because it <i>is</i> a proper Windows program. Why you are getting that error message, I do not know. Have you tried rebooting your PC? Sometimes that helps. Otherwise, you can try doing a system restore to a point in time where everything it did work properly.

Please note that, even though it's playable, there are several annoying bugs in the Post Build 12 mods as well. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Yeah, I've been noticing a couple, but it's nothing you can't work around.

why cheat if you can change your game whit the buildsetting.h file?
