Help with mod installation...

As an old fan of the 1990 Pirates! I finnally lay my hand on this new refurbished version and now I really wants to upgrade it through your community mod. But im having problems installing it. Do I just need to unpack it in the POTC folder and voila? or into a subfolder? In short, I've downloaded the 12.1 buil fullpack and im not sure what to do with it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Ive done that, but it wont change anything when i load the game. I have installed the official patch, should I reistall anew without the patch and then unpack the build?

Ummm, are you using the US or European version? There weren't any patches released unless you have the russian version. If you installed the russian patch on the US version it will not work. Other than that, I don't know why it wouldn't work. I would just say make sure you unpacked it to the correct folder, if you changed the installation directory on the game, make sure you select the same directory when unpacking the build. It should be very obvious when it works because the menu screen at the very beginning will be a different picture. Almost all problems where the build isn't being recognized that I've heard of is because it was unpacked to the wrong directory. The Build 12.1 installer should be a self-extracting .exe file that tells you how to install. I think it should say something to the effect of:
1) Install stock PotC cleanly
2) Extract the Build 12.1 installer to the same folder
3) Run the RunMe.bat once done (the installer should be able to do this automatically)

Have you done it exactly that way? To check if it was installed correctly already, open up your PotC directory, then open the PROGRAM folder and see if there's a BuildSettings.h file in there. If there is, then you extracted to the right place.
