How do you "use" stuff on the ground during swordf

I saw that my character (once) used a barrel to block a blow. And ther'es stuff on the ground. How do you "use" them?

Generally it is 1, because your character is making a diagonal movement.

Pressing 9 while near the masts causes your character to grab the ropes and kick your opponent.

William? Pressing 9? I didnt think that did anything it duels. Did you mean 8 or 7?

I've never pressed 9 and I've been grabbing the rope several times. I think it's more based on your placement and the random items that are put in the duel scene. If an item is on the ground and you're standing in the right spot, pushing the 1 will use the `ground-item`. If you're standing near the rope, pushing 7 will make you use that. However, I'm not sure if I can see the rope in advance, like I can with the `ground-items`.

If it's lying on the ground, you can incorporate it into your attack by being near it and attacking low - number 1. Your guys will kick the bucket or swing the stick. Never tried the ropes though, will have to do that.

Used to do the ropes all the time in the beta with 9 ... I did noticed it might have changed keys. I think your right - it is 7 now.

Rope swinging was fun. But you have to time it just right at the higher levels.
