how to use ships in-game

I'm started with modding only a few houres ago and i wanted to know how I can put a ship into the game...
I've already painted the ship (kinda <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> ) but I want to know what else i have to do to let the ship work in the game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

yes, i have retextured the fleut and now I want to name it "Interceptor" and make a complete new ship what you can buy, sell and sail in. And I would like to know where you can find the ship icons

Hello Mad Jack the Pirate
Open your fleut.gm file with hex editor. somewhere there is like "bortoutfleut1.tga".
you can change it "as you like".tga but use same numper of characters as original name.
you know how to use tx converter?. download one of petro´s ships from FTP.
In it there are good knowledge how to import ship to POTC.
Read the forum. potc wiki etc.Ship icons?? In shipinit.c write refship.all = "fleut1";
ship icons are taken care of by build.

thank you, I know how it works now but I have a little problem with 1 of my 2 sails. I made a sail but if I'm going on sea t he sail is half self-made and half with the nation emblem. My othr sail works just fine <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
