I fired an officer and he attacked me.

I fired one of my hired officers and he promptly drew his sword and attacked me. Four blows and he killed. I was pretty shocked. Anyne else seen this.

Not yet, but if any of my officers try that with me, just let them try to get a good reference out of me! No severance pay either, no matter what I cut off!

I think if you've ever killed an innocent (or even if your officers have) once you turn them loose, the officers hold a grudge. Perhaps their memory of such an incident isn't eternal, but I know if I shoot a bystander and then fire an officer, the officer has issues with me for some reason. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" />

i was only messin, mate... anyway the reason for the officer attacking you is because when you sack him, he goes from your officers group to a citizens group (SPAIN_CITIZENS or PORTUGAL_CITIZENS or whichever). if a character is currently hated by a citizens group (this happens if you attack the soldiers or citizens of that nation), then unarmed citizens of that group will cower from them and the armed ones will attack them - so if your officer is spanish and the spanish citizens don't like you, be careful when you sack him <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> unfortunately there's no way of telling what nationality they are... perhaps it would be nice to have a nationality indicator on the characters screen?


oh and everyone, i know it's a pain when you get loads of CTDs, but it's a great help to modders if, whenever possible, you can try and reproduce the error in the same circumstances, and then submit the error reports <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />
