The first bit of Age of Pirates News has come out thanks via Falconer. IGN have put up a small preview of AOP explaining the open ended features that we are looking so much towards. They have also put down a Christmas release date ...this year <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

A ship is a pirate's pride and joy. Although still in beta, the ships look quite good, and you can control a whole fleet of them. You can hire officers and other crew in towns to help you sail them all, and you'll need their help when sea battles occur. You can watch and sail in full 3D, or just watch things unfold in a 2D overhead map (similar to Sid Meier's Pirates!).
