So.. First i tried to install the very latest beta version of the mod.. this is the first time in 1 year i played PotC. But, after having tried to install it 3 times, i gave up, and installed the b14_alpha6 plus update.. It works, but... The bugs are just so immense.. let me take one exampel, just to tell you how i'm doing.. I start out picking the english faction, i take a Barque and become cossair. I do the tutorial to get the two lvls, i go to the city, do all the quests (such as getting repairs, crews n all).. i now try to leave port, but as soon as i get to sea, BAM, 10 ships and the fort bombs me dead. I tried this 3 times now, happens all the time..

Then i try being from Spain, and now I can leave the port, but i can not buy ANYTHING, since im "wary" in reputation. I can now seek the governor and get a license making me Spanish, and now i can do the repairs (yay i thought).. but as I started doing quests, i found out that it was infact impossible.. "Kill a pirate ship", sure why not.. i leave port and attack it.. but then suddenly, it lowers its flags, and its friendly.. I cant do anything against, it, thus.. i can't do the quest, plus i can not board it and obtain, in common.. its a waste of time ???

Then i figured,, ill just raise the pirate flags and screw it up : ) Sure, go ahead board the ship, and i conquered it.. but now.. im obviously a full time pirate, since i can not change my flag back -.-

I retry again, figuring.. ill just see if i can at all stay alive in 10 minutes.. but no... the first time i go into oxbay some group of people attacks me, and even while using block, they take me down in 2 hits hahah.. seriously.. what did I do wrong!?!?!?! The same happens with EVERY faction i chose, freelance = the same, Netherlands = the same...

Perhaps i should stick to the 13 full ?

Try raising the Portuguese Flag (It is neutral to most - not pirates of course) : <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
 
That does NOT sound normal. There indeed are some bugs in Alpha 6, but really it shouldn't be quite THAT bad. Do you know you can change the flag you're flying in the Nation Relations menu? The first thing i did when i downloaded and installed the build mod 13 (the first mod i installed ever) was to check what was different from the stock game. When i noticed that i couldnt leave Oxbay, i tried three times before understanding what happened. Then i tried leaving with French colors, obviously it dont help, because the fort destroy you, so i tried the Portuguese colors that are the only neutral nation with all the others except pirates.

by the way, since then i always used portuguese colors, so i could enter in every port without trouble.
 
That's a good trick. But keep into account that the more well-known you become, the higher the chance of being recognized becomes. Your enemies won't be friendly forever, not even with a Portuguese flag. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
