Inexplicable Bad Reputation?

I have been playing POTC Build 13 Update 3, and have stayed neutral to all the factions except pirates and france. I have done tons of ship capping (got a battleship today), and just realized about that time that my reputation fell to "Horror of the High Seas". No one will do business with me in port anymore even though I have good relations with everyone but pirates / france (and I have attacked no one but pirates / france).

I pay my crew on time; aside from capping lots of french ships I haven't done anything wrong to other nations. What am I doing wrong here that I get blacklisted from society eventually, and can I fix this even with a cheat?

EDIT: If someone just knows a place where I can insert a function into the files, or something, to reset my reputation... something, I can do that and follow whatever instructions. Please help <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

BTW, I did some reading, and I'm wondering if it's possible that it's due to the bug listed a while back that seems to cause reputation loss during boardings ?

What can I do about this besides upgrade and start a new game? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Please note my /relations/ are fine, it's my reputation that's horrible ("horror of the high seas")

if you capture ship of nations neutral to you, it gives you big hits to your reputation. that might be it.

i've had the same problem,

to solve it without cheats, keep doing the 'quest' from the governor. it will gove you a repitation increase if completed.

try not to board ships, but sink it and sail over it. you wont lose reputation and be able to pick up crew to gain even more reputation.

if your ship is badly damaged or need food, just sail to a pirate colony.

takes some time, but it helps
