Install Build 2.1 on top of Beta 1.6?

Hey guys quick question, i see in the install instructions that it says to install Beta 2.1 on the unmodified original game, but I am currently running beta 1.6, and I currently dont have my discs for a fresh install :(, so can I install beta 2.1 on top of 1.6? If not, is there a good place to get a digital copy of the game?
 
I'm not sure. When beta 2 first came out I installed both on a new install and upgrading an older install (Beta1.7). I think I had some problems but don't really remember. :shrug

If you have the hard drive space, first copy your existing game and then install beta 2.1 into that.
 
You should be able to install Beta 2 Full on top of any older version without troubles. But to be sure, make a copy of your main game folder before installing Beta 2.
Then if it doesn't work, at least your original install will still be there.
