Instruction of how to get the russian version to work!

I think that many people doesn't know how to get the game to work after they've downloaded the russian version of this game. but now you can! simply follow the instructions bellow and test it for yourself before the official release date wich has been delayed for 23424234234 times now

ok here's what to do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Before you start you first need the program "daemon tools V.4.03HE" and off course the game itself wich you can find on several Torrent sites or p2p network systems.

1. install the setup in your .rar file

2. Download the 1.03 Patch wich you can find on several torrent sites. If you can't find it PM me. Anyway if you found it, install it

3. Download this file: <a href="http://data.stopgame.ru/a81b116680819239620c2fe7efd3d8d7/nocd/Age_of_Pirates_nocd_2_231205.rar" target="_blank">http://data.stopgame.ru/a81b11668081923962...cd_2_231205.rar</a>

it's the "crack" for the game, but you'll see two files in it. extract both files anywhere you want. Open it with daomon tools, by right mouse-click on the deamon tool logo, Virtual CD-Rom>Device0>Mount image and then mount the K3_CD1.mds file. It will add a virtual CD-Rom player to you computer wich will be necessary in order to mislead the star-force protection.

4.Then the last thing to do in order to confuse Star-Force is to shut-off your dvd/cdrom player. Here's how to do it >right Click on my computer>properties>hardware>hardware management (dunnow how it's spelled exactly in english but select the button above)>then find your CD/DVD-rom player and right click>shut off, (you'll do the same trick to switch the players back on).

5. To play AoP in english (tnx to Revolucionario <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ) >>
Do the following thing: Open the file: "C:\Programme\1C\Êîðñàðû 3\RESOURCE\INI\texts" and change ; -sign!

;defaultLanguage = English
defaultLanguage = russian

to:

defaultLanguage = English
;defaultLanguage = russian


then restart your comp and voila, you're in.. it's a lot of effort wich is not really worth of the time for this game actually but hey! at least the chance for testing it yourself. Enjoy!

A few weeks ago I tried it on the same way but it didn´t work - But I had an other daemon-tool-version and I didn´t patch the game! Momently I´m loading the 1.3-patch..I hope that it will work!

navigate in the resource/models/mainmenu folder, create the folder "English" if its not already there and copy the content of the "Russian" folder in the "English" folder.

patch 1.3 is recommended at this point, it will introduce a blurred mainmenu (for a fix see above) and a messed up mission log, which will be fixed, if you copy the age of pirates partial translation (-> google) into the corresponding folder.

sorry for the late responts but I was away from my pc lately

anyway ravenheart, that 1.1 patch failed with me, It's get stuck during loading time so I used the 1.03 patch wich can be downloaded here

BTW. Another way to run StarForce protected games(backups), is:

a) burn the game with Alcohol120% on to a DVD and run it from a DVD-<b>ROM</b>

b) burn the game with Alcohol120% on to a DVD and run it from a USB DVD-RW/ROM

sorry this is probley somthing really simple but its been driving me mad for about a week now. ive downloaded the russain torrent installed it, installed the patches. mounted the file using demon and then run the program and every time i run the programe starforce get halfway through and then i get a blue screen with a physical mempry dump and then have to restart. i am disaberling my actual CD drive. i have tryed with the 1.03 patch with the 1.1 patch and with no patches atol. think it may be more of an issue with starforce than AOP as the progress bar never completes is there some trick that makes starforce work that ive missed.

It should say that the disk is not original if it detects anything, blue screen of death means:

a) you're windows is bugged to hell and a new installation of it would be good

b) starforce f. something real bad(which is why i don't have any SF games installed and never will).
