Interesting little quirk is duplicatable

Unlucky Jack

It seems I owe an apology to Edgar Atwood. I just confirmed that after completeing the Help The Lady quest, Iam no longer able to fast travel to locations in any port. Previously I thought this was related to a bug where Edgar Atwood inexplicably joined my shore party all by his self. The nerve, but I digress. After completeing the Help The Lady quest, I went back to IM to get supplies and noticed that I could no longer FT anywhere. This was some thing I had a problem with before so I had gone back to an earlier save game and retraced my steps.
Anyone else had this problem?
I'm going to do it again and this time I'm going to sail directly to redmond after completeing the quest and see if Edgar atwood opts for shore leave again.
Another thing that happened this time was actually something fixed its self. My quest book would not scroll down to view off the page completed quests, which was something I have had a problem with since barbossa was a baby. Now, after the Help the Lady quest, It scrolls fine and I can view all completed quests. Very odd.

Oh and one more weird tidbit: In my inventory is a bag of gold ( about 2600 pieces)that remains seperate from my main funds. I couldn't do anything with it. I picked it up from some quest. Then I was equiping an officer and the interface gave me the option to swap it for some weapon but wouldn't let me actually just give it away. So I swapped it and got a message that something had been taken from inventory. Then to get even weirder, I could move it back into my inventory 1 coin at a time and each coin would give me an added to inventory message and would go into the same bag o money, I moved a couple 1 at a time then used take all.

I gotta tell ya, I'm not sure which is more entertaining about Build 13.0.1.2, the added features or the quirks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

that's some mighty wierdnesses you have there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> i've had different things happen to me, though just as wierd. i'd try a reinstall if i where you, preferably with a freshly downloaded exe file. sometimes it works. you'll likely just get different problems, or none at all. my current install doesn't seem to have too bad quirks.

Yep, i was thinking its time for a reinstall myself. I have a stock version on another drive that I just setup so I think I will apply 13 full to it, if it ever finishes downloading, although I cant complain about the speed too much, decent enough at 170kb/s.

i have 30 kb/s at most. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> so i tend to stick with what i have.

Heh, I used to get 1200 kb/s, but those days are long over. I'm lucky to max out at 100 kb/s now. Stinkin' ISP. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I've run into that same problem, and resorted to a reinstall as well - now, I just avoid that quest altogether. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Build 13.0.1.2? That's Build 13 Full, not Build 13 Final. You might want to install <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/privateftps/pietersmods/potc_downloads/build13/b13_update3.zip" target="_blank">Build 13 Update 3</a> on top. I solved that weird money item issue over a year ago and the fix is included in Update 3. You need to start a new game for the update, I'm afraid. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Thanks Pieter, Thats exactly what I did. So far I like it better for the most part. So far only one CTD but it was a big one. One good thing was when I applied the changes to get more space between battle fleets, gun ranges stayed normal. Final IS fine <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Also really cool was the fact that the game actually told me my save games where for an earlier version, very slick.

One thing: Open PROGRAM\Worldmap\worldmap.c and set MAPSPEED to 1.0; that can also fix some CTDs.
