Isla Muelle Priest Bug workaround yet?

Well, the ship's boy has been logging time in POTC Build 13 and ran into an old bug we found back in the Sparrow bughunting days. He completed the Mephisto quest and now can't talk to the priest on Isla Muelle to advance the main quest. Searching through here, the workaround I found was to go back to the Animists' hideout and talk to him there where he is still stuck in the cell. Unfortunately, when we tried that, no padre in the cells! Was a fix found for this in Build 14 that I can apply to his game? Maybe console in something to move the quest along? He has put too much time into it to have to restart all over again.
 
I do think Captain Maggee fixed this in Build 14 Alpha 10, yes.
Not entirely sure how. He'll probably reply in this thread later. :doff
 
Thanks Pieter. Another quick question for you. I remember this was posted on here somewhere a long time ago, but a quick search didn't find it. How do I set up a second instance of the game for Build 14 while keeping Build 13 running for the boy?
 
Just make a copy of your full Build 13 installation and install Build 14 Alpha 10 on top of that.
 
You can actually just copy the entire game folder. Doesn't need a registry key to run. More games should be like that!
 
The copied folder can go anywhere with any name. Wherever you want it, basically.
Me, I have many, many different game versions all installed side-by-side on my external HD.
And the good thing is, I can run each and every one of them without installing anything. :cheeky
 
SWS- Yep, I knew that part, but thank you. Just couldn't remember if it had to be outside the Bethesda folder. You'll be pleased to know that the reason I want to go ahead and load 14 is to test drive your WBT changes! The Dread Pirate Nick (AKA Ship's Boy) is well into a game on Build 13 though, so I don't want to overwright that.

Pieter- Ok, thanks. Just checking. I thought there was some issue with them being side-by-side, but i must be thinking of a different game.
 
Yep the priest dialog is fixed in Build Alpha 10, I think I fixed it in Alpha 9.5 :yes

It did take awhile but I did get it to work :cheeky
 
Good work Captain Maggee! Is your fix something I can somehow employ to get my son's game in Build 13 back on track?
 
Maybe... I would have to look over the code files again and see what I changed to get it to work :yes

However at the moment Im swamped with real life work and still need to finish play testing my storyline before BETA 1 is released
 
All right, thanks mate. I'll dig through Build 14 when I get it installed and see if I can figure it out as well.
