I have some technical issues and hope some kind techie can help...
I just bought the limited edition Pirates! DVD, and am having trouble playing it with my system. I have a relatively old DVD drive in my computer - a Toshiba `DVD-Rom` `SD-M1402` - that was manufactured in 2001. It installed and loaded the game OK, but was very slow when I actually started to play. Eventually it crashed, and I uninstalled the game.
The slow speed reminded me of some old problems I had with the game when I played it in the 1990s, when my operating system gradually failed to recognize the `CD-ROM` of the game that came in the Conquer the World package in about 1995.
My question is, I hear that there is an another version of the game - with 2 `CD-Roms`. I am running XP on my Gateway, and have a Pentium III with 796 Mhz and 256 MG of RAM. I also have a `CD-ROM` drive, a Plextor Plexwriter 12/10/32A. Would the other version of the game run on my `CD-Rom` drive?
