Ahoy Matey,

please let me understand:

Letter of Marque and Trade License are the same things or not?
I was able to buy a Trade License from a pirate but still can't take mission from master governor.

How relation system works? I've attack enemy ships and I remain neutral with that nation and ostile with my nation, why?

thx,
giuliootto

A trading liscense allows you to enter the port of the country you hold it from (if you have a bounty they will stil fire on you).

A patent will allow you to take jobs for the governors (this means you are loyal to that nation ie no attacking their ships or friendly nations).

Hi Hulk82,

How could I get a patent? The pirate only buy Trading license.

The pirate diplomat sells them. Occasionally he'll tell you he doesn't have any, but it's random so just ask him again right away and chances are he will have magically obtained one in the five seconds since the last time you asked.

OK, thanks for the reply, I will try again.

But I still don't understand the meaning of the trade license:
I play at sailor level, I was always able to trade with English (my nation) and French, also without trade license.
I bought the trade license, for English and French, after spent money to adjust my reputation with that nations.
So what the trade license need:
Not for reputation because I can adjust it with few money compared to the trade license;
Not for trade because I can without it.

Please let me know.

bye, bye,
giuliootto

Um, it's for trade with enemy nations. You sail in under a friendly flag and then when the guard at the pier stops you you show him your licence and you're allowed into the city.

Thanks again,
giuliootto
