I already own Pirates! Gold, and I also own Ultima `3-9`, complete with cloth maps, and they sold for normal price, so that map in the limited edition would have to be pretty f**king special to warrant $30 more.
The Ultima games also came with fake leather and parchment manuals, btw. and most of them had extras, like small Ankhs, coins, stones and stuff. Still, they weren't limited edition.
I remember that the Ultima 9 Dragon Edition probably cost me around $30 more, but that box was huge and contained every Ultima game ever made, extra poster, personal letter, a small ankh and chain, tarot cards and some other stuff I can't remember.
I guess limited editions don't live up to those standards these days.
PS. Origin wasn't alone in doing nice packaging. All Infocom games had tonnes of stuff with them, like fake newspaper clippings, a rubber centipede, passports, travel guides, etc. etc. etc.
