Losing a letter of marque

Playing with a British LOM, I attacked and sacked the port on Marinique. At the conslusion I had lost my British LOM and gained a Dutch and Portugese LOM. What is up with that?

Yes, and wehn I went to report to Silehard the request for a letter of marguq came up in the dialogue. BTW the promotion to capiain worked perfectly. Do you always get the same ship?

With the current code, it's always the same ship, but for England it depends on the time period.
Note that it isn't historically accurate, I just wrote that code to prove the point that it can be period-dependent.

Now, this is something that can be easily done, I believe.
A Drop O' Rum said he'd code in the system I proposed, but that was several weeks ago now...
Could someone else do it, based on the Excel file detailing the ships for each nation and period (or something similar)?

It's VERY easy, even. Just some copy-paste and changing the ship types.

Ok, the loss of the LOM is apparently not related to the conquest of the port. On the mission to stop the ammunition ship... I have to raise a French flag to get into the port. When I kill Boon in the port and leave I have lost in English LOM.

This is very confusing to me. When you attack the Oiseau your ships should automatically have British flags. If you attack in port, then the fort will attack you. As far as I know, the way to lose a British LoM is to attack a British ship. But the only way to get a LoM is to buy it from a Governor. Have you tried sailing out to sea and then attacking the Oiseau?

Yes and that appears to work, but killing boon in port does not.

Morgan Terror ordered Boon to attack another ship in port, and that worked for him. I haven't tried that one yet.
