Map from special edition to download?

Hi!
I only have the german normal (without a map) version of the game. In the special edidion is an old map. Is it possible to download this map?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't seen an official map out there yet - anyone else? Atari site has a pic of it but it's not a real big one you could download and print out and actually READ. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Well, it's nice if you want to sail to a certain place and you don't know in which direction to head - sometimes you hear a rumor or the stranger tells you about a town but you don't know where that place happens to be because you've never been there before...

Granted, some of the smaller settlements and pirate havens are not listed - that's because their places change from game to game...

That's why having a rutter is so useful! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

I've got the US version and a map came with it. It looks to be a print out of the in game map . . . aged to look old. Nothing really special about it. At least the in game map adds the "X"s for special locations.

You can use the `in-game` Pirateopedia to locate places on the map. Bring up the town info and click on the coordinates and it displays it's exact location on the map.

Nobody's talking about the Pirateopedia, but it's a great in game reference tool, much like the Civopedia. I use it all the time to find out about things, locate towns, etc.

I took a few screenshots of the in game map, printed them out and taped them together, works well.

*`Alt-tabs` back into Pirates! to take screens...* <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

The in- game map is for sissies. I use a map that is a reprint of an <b>actual 1640</b> Dutch map. I had it printed on 15" by 20" parchment and whenever I sail from let's say Port Royal to Cartagena, I estimate the course from the map and off I go! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> Works great, although the map isn't very accurate by today standards. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

I also sail with paper map <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> , I downoloaded her from internet and it is an old map from original, I dont like to use `in-game` map, so it would be nice if someone can scan and put on internet the map from LE <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> . (I dont know the location of every town and i dont like to stop the sailing yust to take a look)

We can't host a map like that here, unless we have permission from Atari to do so. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Atari jus' needs tew make a JPG o' de map wid thar copyright on it den post it on thar website fer download! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Dat be what Bethsoft done fer PotC! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
