Maps with wrong locations

Does anyone have any problems with the maps? I have a treasure map that tells me to look in the vacinity of Cumana and one of the landmarks is a rock by the name blade shalows.

Now, blade shallows is way up north near the Florida Keys. Cumana is way down on the south. Where do I look?

Another map tells me to look just west of Curacao and shows me 2 islands side by side with lookout reef right between them. Again, lookout reef is way on the other side of the map and there's nothing around it other than ocean.

What gives? This is really anoying me.

These ain't supposed tew be National Geographics maps, but rather hand drawn treasure maps, matey! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Certainly, it be makin' it more challengin', Fred Bob has had tew make 2 or 3 trial an' error landings tew git it right, usually de treasure be in fact near de landmarks drawn, jus' mebbe not tew de scale implied! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Can't have it be too easy, ya know, or everyone would know where that treasure lies! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Heck, I remember getting a BLANK map from the stranger during the betatest (yes, it was a bug and reported, LOL!). Be happy you've got some map details at all! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Also, landmarks can be redundant. There can be a Knife Shoals in more than one spot. That's why having a complete map is important sometimes, unless you recognize the lay of the land. A complete one will say, "Search in the vicinity of Campeche" etc...

Ahoy!

I'm new on the board, but by no means a Pirates! noob. In a current game I got the exact same problem with a Cumana map. The shoreline does not add up to anything remotely near Cumana, and I tried every single landing point that could possibly match with the map, but did not find a single landmark that was right.

In all other searches for treasures and family members I've been able to find it spot on, so I'm pretty sure there's a bug here.
