This time I played the Mefisto quest first:
After the fight with Aminist no Padre in cell. So no dialog.
Gone back to the church and sure enough there is the padre not talking.
On with the Main quest. After getting cut up by Danielle on Douwesen back to Isla Muelle.
The Padre does not talk. Over to the Liars Hideout, Talk to the Padre about the fight ahead!?
Than back to the church and this time he talks, all is well!!.....on with the Main quest.
Would be very nice if someone could unmuddle this! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
I believe this is already being worked on by IncredibleHat and ReiFukai. You might want to join in on the discussion on the <a href="http://swankyplace.com/potcbugs/view.php?id=180" target="_blank">Bug Tracker</a>.
 
The latest build which protects quest characters, does make this quest completable... I suppose whats left to be fixed is the context in which the text is presented to make it more understandable and or not break if you do one or two items out of sequence.

Of course, without beating a dead horse on this one, this quest was taken out of the game when Di$ney picked up the rights due to the satanist stuff... I cant help but feel like there was alot more too it other then back to back fed-ex style missions... but I could be wrong (wouldnt be the first time). It was lovingly restored to do-able status... but does need some tweaking atleast so it dosnt break. I would like to continue to work on this one with hat as time permits to get the clarity/action it needs to give it quality entertainment value beyond 'yeah i got the mefisto in my fleet'.
 
This quest was also in the stock game wasn't it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
