You all remember the meek looking, mild mannered "Searcher" character
you have encountered at the merchant stands at Redmond and various
other locations around the Caribbean.

Well, it seems that Searcher has an Evil Twin!

Searcher is often seen running out of taverns, crying
because someone called him a name.

That is where "Evil Twin" steps in to defend the family name.

After all, he did promise Mum to look out after Searcher when they sailed
from England. Now fighting is all he does and with a sword and pistol, does
it well!

"Evil Twin" might not really be so evil!

Ya see, he's fought long and hard many times and has the scars and glass eye to prove it.

But he's tired of so often having to bail out his good for nothing brother,

Perhaps he should be better known as "Miserable Twin".

I used Searcher for my Sneaky Trader mod, his coat is just the thing to be turned into something really cool... I want to put an eyepatch on him, but that has to be modeled... Here's the link if you want to see some pics:

Been fooling around with Inez's `head-switcher` a little, today. Am going to have an interesting time with making new character skins from the combos... Can make Searcher even more ragged by switching him with Brodyaga... That was before I got here.

Yes, after Samsa/Barbosa/Graybeard that coat of Searcher is the best one
in the game. I wanted to use it for other pirates but I noticed it is very hard to skin.
Lines take wicked turns in the most unexpected places and
high contrast colors placed together tend to bleed into large Pixel blocks.

I switched his head with Corsair1 to use making pirates with hats, but found his head was too high.

I was able to lower it into place just in time as my trial program is about to run out.

I agree absolutely about the potential for the Searcher model; it's my favorite model I think (though nearly tied with Blaze and Will--not the Nigel Will, the other one).

Are you using Maya 4.5?

For the graphics I use Photoshop CS
I too started early with it, Version 2.5 that came with a scanner back in 93
so upgrades are not expensive, not nearly as a full version.

For the `3-D` modeling, which I know nothing about, I downloaded a trial
ver of 3DS Max 7.

Back to searcher, I switched heads with Corsair3, the one with eye patch,
And it doesn't look bad except the head is a little too large, as is the case
with many character switches.

I tried to save it and then convert to gm using the tool but still only get
the large head. I have been able to save a "reposition of head" file but
not a "resize head" file so I guess:

1. I haven't the foggiest idea what the Heck I'm doing in `3-D` (which is true anyway)

2. The trial version is not "Without limits for 30 days"
 
Well, I know my way around the arctic circle better'n I know Maya, but max I do know some of, so I'd be happy to help you get acquainted with it if you like.
(This is a standing offer for anyone who wants to get into max btw).
