So, the surprises just keep coming.
Heres just a few of the latest:
7-11 comes to OXBAY; Seems since the british took back oxbay the inhabitants have been desperate for business and have now begun 24 hour operations in the shipyard and store. I don't know if this is intentional in the build or if it is a glitch caused by me takeing the fort while it was still in french hands. Either way it seems wacky because it really doesn't have much of an impact.
Sail damage is persistent; after dominating a french fleet and its pirate attackers I captured a surrendered french class 1 warship. I loaded it up with sail and planks, swapped over to it and did quick repair. It was missing a mast so it repaired to about 10% off of 100 sail cloth. I then swapped back to my original ship which had no damage. Now my original ship showed no sail damage on its icon but the sails were riddled with holes and was only capable of 3 knots in a 30 knot wind. So I f3 and sail to port to repair. By the time i reach oxbay, the warship has its mast back and shows 100% sails and hull( even though it had no materials during the voyage), I however am still suffering swiss sails( and all my sail cloth is gone, like i was missing a mast). After repairing at the shipyard, which offered no repair for my ship and only guns for the others, I find my sails still perferated and unable to acheive speed. Needless to say I quit that game.
It seems like evey time I capture a non-stock class 1 or class 2 ship, something goes horribly wrong with the game like it did above or goes CTD.
Other wacky things:
Boarding surrendered ships: sometimes my companions board the ship with me, about 1 in 4 chance of that.
Stowaways on my captives deck.
Ships that dont exist according to "sail to" such as enemy ships sailing away from a battle. These are still quiet visable but the option to sail to them is not given.
Trading with smugglers: sometimes they are where they say to meet, sometimes I have to go to each available shore and them they appear where they are supposed to be or I have to go back to tavern and let the smugglers agent tell me to "complete one bit of business before starting another".
Finding bullets and gunpowder in lootable chests when boarding, no im not referring to gunpowder lockers which rarely ever have bullets but sometimes contain loot like trinkets and stuff.
During boarding, sometimes my companions start with me on the quarterdeck and follow me into the fray,or sometimes they start on the main deck surrounded by enemies but just stand there not fighting untill I fight( good thing the crew is heavily armed and armoured)
Some ship models identify as class 1 on icon and spyglass but class 2 anywhere else(lineships and warships), I also had ships with no Icon picture.
Modified ship models appear more frequently than stock, particularly the MM mod ships.
It seems the longer I play this install, the wackier it gets, like its losing its mind or inventing its own game mods. Interesting but frustrating at the same time.
Most of it is still playable but every once in a while it just gets too weird or crashes.
