My current project. . . if only I had the Maya Plugin. .

Hehe, I've been working with O2 (and forcing its secrets out with the edge of my blade) since it was first released. . . I still prefer it to any other 3d modelling prog for making game models for any other games because of its simplicity and `ease-of`-use. . . If you have Flashpoint, and you want to make models, there's no better way to go; especially now that O2 has a 3ds exporter available from the Flashpoint community! Now all I do for other games is simply export my O2 models and work with them in whatever other software I need to use. . . in this case (POTC), Maya.

Used to be that I actually had to model in MAX. . . hehe

Uh. . . are you calling the Royal Navy a bunch of clowns? Worse yet; are you calling Horatio Nelson a clown? Because the 'Nelson Check', as that scheme is called, was his standard, and the entire RN adopted it. . .

Personally, I think it's really cool. . .

Oh, I think the paint scheme is cool, too, and your ship is breathtaking! I'm another that's been longing for a real 74, and this looks great!

I'd recommend maybe moving the yellow strakes up to correspond with the gunport rows, but then it sounds like you know what you're doing... I'll just shut up and wait for the release of this baby!

I agree that she's not really Pirate material... But she's just the thing to outfit your officers with those English uniforms we have and blast forts to pieces!

A real 74... man, I'm PUMPED!!! :?

Which thingy is that?

You mean the Plugin? That's for Maya. MAX, BTW, is not too expensive. . .

As for the skin, if you look at SOLs from prior to 1815 or so (when the stripes went white on British ships), you'll see that the yellow stripes on different ships were positioned differently, and generally, they didn't follow either the gunport rows or the wales (broad bands of planking on the hull). In fact, they didn't follow mouldings either, or even meet up with the stern gallery windows. . . Wuite odd actually, but back then it was the job and purview of each captain to paint his ship how he wished. At the moment, I'm doing a real, physical model of HMS Victory, and it was a real challenge to get the lines right, because true to form, Victory's lines don't follow the wales or ports either; and they're not even a consistent width all the way across.

On to my question. . . . anyone want to suggest (or donate, if you're a modeler) a figurehead? Something `low-key` so it doesn't look `out-of`-place on 25 or so ships of the same class (as POTC will reproduce them. . . :?

`Sigma-6`, I bow to your superior knowledge!

Since you obviously know what you're talking about, I'm going to wait with eager anticipation the release of your 74!

She is just gorgeous!

What aa great looking ship! Is it a 2nd or 3rd rete, does anyone know. Is there any realistic chance to get it in the game?

It would be similar to a battle ship, I think.

Great Job! xD:
