[Purpure Longstride]

As my introduction thread ended up segueing into art and modding discussion for the Sea Dogs/PoTC RPG series, I made one to keep future discussion in place.

Piggyback Pals

“How about we go visit your mother Old Green Eyes?”

“Lizzie… Does everyone call my mum that? I don’t think I could.”

“Yeah! You’ve probably noticed she’s the only one with those very green eyes. Dad and Uncle Corrin said that when Old Green Eyes was our age, she had golden hair too.”

“She told me that House Longstride was known for flaxen hair from the Lionheart days and Woolpit Green too. Want to piggyback to the lighthouse again?”

“Of course. I can’t wait to be as tall as you are, Purpure.”

Lizzie and Purpure became fast friends shortly after the latter visited the Whitebrushes when Lucinda was getting the islanders acquainted with her.

Although Purpure was tall for her age, Lucinda wanted to ensure her new foster daughter had a semblance of childhood, even for a brief moment.

Speedy Interview

“So, Miss Longstride, have you heard about the Seychelles Coconut Farm's razing?”

“I don't understand why you're asking me that, I've never been to the Coconut Farm. How can I set fire to a place I've never been?”

Captain Speedy wasn’t impressed when she found out that Lucretia’s artist’s impression of the suspect looked nothing like the captain she was interviewing at that very moment.

Almost everything was off aside from their bare bones appearances.

Not to mention that Purpure was being uncooperative by giving roundabout answers. Captain Speedy would have to try another tack to get more clues.

You may have seen in the Discord that I will be performing sea shanties on Jazzthepirate's Twitch this Sunday, May 11 2025 as part of the collab event Sailing for St Jude.

I'd be glad if you can make it to when I'm live. But if you can't, I'll link a VOD in this post after the event.

Kicking Face and Taking Names

“That's for uncle Corrin, you nasty oaf!”

Purpure didn't waste time on words when she saw that Lucretia wasn't the kind to talk things out.

Another attempt at using motion blur filters to depict movement, especially in a fight.

Purpure is doing a reverse roundhouse kick, a particularly difficult martial arts move to begin with. I personally can only do similar moves in the showroom and not an actual fight or duel.

La Dandizette​

“What do I dream of? Freedom to live and dress as I please!”

Purpure’s outfit in this piece is very heavily inspired by the Art Fight group portrait that HestiantMoop made. (Toyhouse alt link)

Couldn’t decide between a very happy expression or imitating the bedroom eyes that Hestia’s version had, so I did both. I was also inspired by aerialist performances.

One thing’s for sure, I’ll likely use gaussian blur for backgrounds again in future if the main figure’s supposed to be moving.

“Aye, cap'n!”

Despite Purpure not reciprocating Simon’s crush on her, they were willing to stick together when things got serious.

The thing Simon is waving is a modified alpenstock, while Purpure is using her immense mana reserves to imbue both of them with temporary power.

Simon thought playing grab-ass with Purpure was a great idea. She wasn’t impressed.

“I wish this alien would stop pulling my hair. Have you figured out what it is?”

“But what kind of cephalopod has legs? They’re all arms, to begin with. The book doesn’t have anything about octopi with legs.”

“Well, do hurry! I don’t want to accidentally drop it before we ask the Oyster Immortal.”

Purpure and Lizzie have no clue how to handle what looks like an underwater baby, much less how to convince said baby to stop pulling the former’s long black hair.

I haven't posted here in a while. But I have something to show too, namely 3D work.

I'd like to start on making 3D models of the Lotus Crew and Sonia, though I don't think I have the knowledge to put them in a3D game. At best, I'd use them to stage scenes before I draw them again in 2D.

For that matter, where can I get a 3D Blender file of a ship?

I believe some people have used Blender to create .gm models for PoTC, which would imply that Blender can read such models. So, see if you can do anything with this:

That should be all the files needed for the game's "US_Interceptor" model, which is based on the real life Lady Washington and which I used to represent Purpure's Lotus. If that works, you can download Build 15 of the game - even if you don't choose to play it, you'll find a lot more ships in the same format as that one.

That requires a GM plugin from this very site and an older version of Blender. I'll see what I can do with that.
